Disaster Preparedness

Due to its geography, Tükiye is a country where many types of natural disasters, especially earthquakes, fires, and floods, frequently occur.

  It is known that disaster management, coordination, and having a strong infrastructure play a significant role in minimizing the negative consequences that may arise as a result of natural and man-made disasters.

  As the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, we are persistently working on disaster preparedness, whether they are of natural or human source. We are enhancing the quantity of our search and rescue teams, initially established before the devastating earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay that impacted 11 provinces. Additionally, we are broadening the selection of equipment for our disaster response efforts. 

  We are striving to enhance our capabilities with your support, believing that we can be more beneficial to our country in the fight against disasters.

 Our 108-member search and rescue team played a crucial role in saving dozens of citizens trapped under the rubble during the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay. They tirelessly supported the efforts in the region round the clock, without knowing fatigue.

  With the anticipated Istanbul earthquake in mind, our country will probably face several earthquakes and climate-related disasters shortly. It is crucial to expedite the readiness of the required human resources and equipment.

  Donations made towards becoming a disaster-resilient community will ensure the training and provision of necessary materials for our search and rescue, nutrition, in-kind aid, and psychosocial support teams.
